REFLECTION

For this semester I have took SS3013 Information and Communication Technology in Science which one of the major subjects that I should take before I am graduate. Enzik Azmi bin Ibrahim is my lecturer who is responsible teach us about this subject. I am very grateful to get him as my lecturer because he is very understanding and always gives us advice to always take care of ourselves especially when the cases of pandemic covid-19 are increases in our country. He also is a great lecturer because he always checked our assignments every week in every class to make sure my classmate and I get a higher mark for his course.

For this subject, I have five assignments that I should complete it which is three of this assignment are doing in the group which is smart school (assignment 1), data logger (assignment 2) and stella simulation (assignment 3) and another two is an individual task which is graphic design (assignment 4), editing video (assignment 5) and E-portfolio SS13013. I am very enjoyed to do all the assignment because for me this course is very interesting to learn and can improve my skill about the editing especially edit the E-portfolio on blog that for me has many challenging.

All this assignment is complete very well. I am very grateful because have a good member that always helps each other to make sure all these tasks is complete and can present very well during online classes. Even we just communicate through whatsApp group, but it did not stop us and not make us give up to complete our work. For me, all the assignment is very smooth to finish it because all the group member is taking part very well and give good attitude to complete this task together.

Editing video (Assignment 5)

In this assignment, I have learned how to edit the video by using the application. From this assignment, I start to know many applications for editing and friendly use. For my video, I use Kinemaster which is it is very easy to use and have many benefit on that application. So for my video content, I record my home view with my smartphone and edit it in Kinemaster applications. This video already shows to my lecturer and he asks me to make improvements in my video with put the caption in the video.

Graphic Design (Assignment 4)

For this assignment, I have a little bit problem completing it. It is because, before this, my laptop does not have photoshop software to complete this task. So, I have to install it first from google. However, it is very difficult for me because I not familiar with this software but I am very grateful because my friends from the same course help me by teaching me how to use that software. This task is already shown to my lecturer during an online class.

E-Portfolio SSI3013 Blog

All the task that already complete have to upload to this E-portfolio SSI3013 blog. Before that, I have to edit this blog to complete all the components that should have on the blog before upload all the assignments. Actually, it can improve my skills to design the blog in my own way to make it more attractive and interesting.

INTRODUCTION

SSI3013 Information and Technology in Science, introduce us about the technology in education especially for science subject that requires technology use in the learning process. So, this subject is very helpful to expose to us how to use technology as teaching tools when we become  real teacher at school. There are several assignments that provided to us which are Smart School, Data Logger, Stella Simulation, Graphic Design, Video Editing and E-Portfolio.

SMART SCHOOL

Smart School is a technology based teaching learning institution that prepares children for the information age. To achieve smart school educational objectives, these teaching and learning concepts should be covered: curricular, pedagogy, assessment and teaching-learning materials. In smart school, teachers use various tools that relate to technologies to teach their students for example photos, audio, slides and so on. Unlike traditional, basically, only use a textbook as a tool and not really use technology in the learning process. Actually, this is the first assignment that I get from our lecturer which we have to do in the group (5 members) and will present during online classes.

DATA LOGGER

A data logger or data recorder is an electronic device or a computer program that continuously records data over time in relation to the location either using a built-in instrument or through an externally interfaced one. Data logger consists of sensor which will transfer all the data into a computer for analysis and it is the best way to use in the learning process. By using data logger, it will make all the experiment become simple and easily repeatable. This will give new experience to the students to feel like scientists and can changes their experiment depend on result that they collected and record. This assignment also has done in a group and present together during an online class.

STELLA SIMULATION

Stella actually is a modeling software which consists of the diagram, charts, and uses animation to help visual learners discover the relationship between variables and helps simplify model building. In Stella simulation, it provides an introduction about the experiment and instruction how to run the simulation. So, it will help students to complete their experiments without any problem. Stella simulation can improve their understanding of lessons and improve their skills which are critical thinking skills, communication skills and exercise student’s collaborative and communication skills. Actually, this is the last assignment that needs to do it in a group and present in online classes.

GRAPHIC DESIGN

Graphic design is the first individual assignment for this subject. In this assignment, I have to edit my header blog creatively by using pictures of scenery in my hometown. This header needs to edit by using Adobe Photoshop software that needs to install from Google. The way to edit this header must follow as shows by the lecturer.

VIDEO EDITING

For this assignment, it required a few pictures until reach 30 second in the video. Every scene that already records by using a smartphone has to edit in any application such as the Kinemaster application. During editing, a few elements have to put in the video for example the title of the video, a caption on every scene, transition and credit. This assignment also is an individual task after the design graphic assignment.

E-PORTFOLIO BLOG

All the assignments are uploaded to the blog. The blog is creatively design by individual and all the assignment have been arranged properly in this blog.

MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

The good teacher will put more effort and not give up easily to understands their students. The good teachers always do their best by using various strategies and tools that suitable for the learning process in class. Besides, teachers will never compare their student ability in studies but help the students who have lower performance in class or examination. Furthermore, teachers must expert for every subtopic in books to ensure the knowledge that delivers to the students are accurate. I believe the great teacher will show a good attitude to their students because at school teachers is a role model for the students.

Assalamualaikum, I am Nurhusna Izzati Binti Mohd Sawal, student in Bachelor of Education (Science) with Honors (AT16) at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI). I am a third-year degree student that should take SSI3013 (Information and Communication Technology in Science) to complete my studies before getting graduate. The E-Portfolio is created via using a blog to fulfill the coursework for this subject. This E-portfolio will show all the assignments that already done by me and my group member. There are five assignments that consist in this E-portfolio which are Smart School, Data Logger, Stella Simulation, Graphic Design and Video Editing. All these assignments already get approval and improvement from my lecturer before uploaded to this blog.
